Understanding The Media: Trailer Research

I have been looking at film trailers that are linked with horror, I believe that horror is something that i could complete easily and that i could use well by doing different styles of music. Most of the Trailers bellow are linked to What i am going to produce, I want to make my trailer dark and mysterious,

The first Trailer is The Shining, this something i really enjoy as it sets the mood really well and it does not give anything away but it lures you in to watch it, I would really like to create mine as scary as this Trailer because there is no sound except of the music and it creates a deeper impact on the visual,

The second Trailer i am about to show is one that has really interest me is the red dragon trailer, its really good and creepy it sets off with an introduction with the characters then all the sounds are linked to set the scene, then the tension builds up with a conversation with Hannibal one of the main lead people then they linked words to images and then used quick cuts. As the trailer came to a conclusion the cuts get faster and faster until its ended to black then a scary end shot of hannibal.

Sound is an important factor as it sets the mood and as the the trailer starts it should be low dimmed and then build and build and build this happens for most trailers because the start is the introduction then then follows to the plot and then the build up in music gets louder as the images get faster or more disturbing, one trailer that i have viewed that i feel does this with sound is inception, the trailer it self lures you in but i feel because of the music it creates a better affect.
