Exploring Specialist Pathway 2 : The Competition
The Competition that i have entered my film was the brief i was following. I found it easy to follow the brief because it was a strait forward document. It was really informative and it gave me loads of guidelines i had to follow but it made it simpler for me.
One problem that i came across when following the brief was was when i had to receive permission to send off to the festival, they ask for documented permission forms ready incase my film get chosen, i felt that it was better that i was prepared than unprepared.
Below is a clip of Ridle Scott talking about this competition as he is one of the main host's and hes talking about how you can get your inspiration and your ideas for your film. Over all its been a really good project over all.

EXPLORING SPECIALIST PATHWAY 2: Fate (Short Film)
The link below is of my short film, There where some technical problems with the sound. i have tried to deliver meaning full shots for example the bottle spinning on the ground is suppose to mean the wheel spinning for the crash of the car, also the sound effect of the crash to end the party (This could be miss judged by a shattered glass) I also believe some of the other shots are simple and effective and that was the angle i was trying to get at. with the film i believe the narrative is good and its one of my strongest piece.
EXPLORING SPECIALIST PATHWAY 2: Research
The styles and techniques I have been looking for to use in my work came across when looking through my brief. It has all been about they way you tell the story, as I wanted to tell my story differently i decided to look at some scenes in films where the story isn't just the start middle and end. I also looked at films where the narration controls the story but then the characters break that boundary and talks to the narrator.
When looking a the film below I looked into this scene quite a bit and I have looked at how it was shot and also how the characters actions create the story rather than the acting that is being shown. I also think that most of the sound is crisp and clear this is something that will be really important in terms of my video, but I will also try do the best with what I have in terms of editing and filming equipment.
Also in the clip below it seems to be very quick paced but also with a clear understanding with what is going on in terms of the story. I believe that my film must deliver this scene of understanding to the audience but I may not try make it as complex because I have the tendency to loose track of my audience. From Previous work before I have made mistakes with my film where you may no understand certain elements to shots or not understand who the character is, I must make sure that this is not the case and that I will try reach the overall best of my ability’s with film.

Personal Development In Specialist Pathway: Research
The Gadget Show - Link
As i have created a live production show about cameras and the review of cameras i used the gadget show as a source of my main research i felt that, they way they describe the cameras udse full and also the set has objects in the back ground this helped me when deciding how to have my set.
When they describe the cameras on the VT footage i felt that our presenters should talk the same way and in the same stile. I feel as a camera review show, the gadget show has a lot to offer in terms of research.
Top Gear Cool Wall - Link
The concept of the call wall appealed to me alot. so i decided to look into this more as a director. It was something i felt where we could bring in the conversation to a more relax state and also bringing in the interviewees into the action, to give there own opinions to things they feel are cool and not cool. I think that it was something great added to the show and it helped make it more exiting and interesting This is why i felt top gear gave a good source of research.
Also in terms of the presenter, they banter off each other. They use jokes to brake up the formality and it helps the passing of the time. This is something i really wanted my present to look at and study, i spoke to john nabout this and he understood that making jokes its better for the audience and makes it seem more interesting.
W also looked at letters to John where people would send there letters to him, this is shown a lot on programs like blue peter and other talk/interactive shows. We looked at the style in they where written and tried to generate a good couple of letters for john to read out if we had a lot of time left over for our show.
